These examples of old crochet ropes were furnished by Deborah Zinn.  Deborah purchased these and several other bead crochet and beaded ropes that were all made by one beader.  Ropes most likely evolved from purse straps of the 1800's.  Instructions for bead crocheted ropes can be found in books of the early 1900's from designs of the late 1800's.   Ropes were popular through the 1950's.  Ropes in this collection were most likely made in the late 1940's to early 1950's.
