Bead Crochet Show & Tell

Gift from Down Under
Jenny, What A Gal!

Jenny King is from Australia. Some time back we became email pals and I talked her into attending a Chain Link Conference. She has been attending every conference since and often teaches classes at the events. We have become very good friends and I always look forward to seeing her at the next conference. At Chain Link 2000, Jenny gifted me with a miser’s bag, not just any miser bag, but one that won awards. It is a beautiful pink and salmon bead crocheted miser bag that is 2 ½" wide by 8 ½" long including dangles. This bag is about the miser bag sizes of the 1800’s. Most the antique bags I have cataloged are about 2" longer in the middle section and the same width to 1" wider. The pattern is from her book, Crocheted Heirloom Beaded Bags and it is the Misers Purse, second project in the book. You can read my book review at the Book Center on Beadwrangler.com . It is a very special feeling to receive such a gift that Jenny not only spent many hours making but also won awards.
